Ford has issued a recall for more than 63,000 Bronco and Ranger models due to an issue with the windshield.
In the event of a crash, Ford says that the windshield of the Bronco and Ranger could detach, increasing the risk of injury. A recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says there may be inadequate adhesion between the windshield and the body structure, although Ford notes that the specific cause of the issue remains unclear.
Ford became aware of the issue after receiving a complaint from an owner, prompting an investigation.

The recall impacts a total of 39,063 Ford Bronco models built between December 8, 2021 and April 12, 2022. Affected vehicles were not produced in VIN order. A total of 24,231 Ford Rangers have also been recalled and were built between December 17, 2021 and April 12, 2022.
Owners of impacted vehicles will be notified between July 11, 2022 and July 15, 2022 and instructed to take their vehicle to a local Ford or Lincoln dealership to have the windshield removed and reinstalled using all standard service procedures, including camera calibration if required. The repairs will be carried out free of charge and Ford will reimburse owners who have already paid to have the issue resolved.
This isn’t the first time that the Ford Bronco has been recalled. In mid-June, a total of 53,103 Broncos were recalled because the rear doors could be opened even if the child safety lock was set to on. The issue only impacts the right-hand rear door and an inspection from Ford at its plant revealed that 1.5 per cent of Bronco models had the issue. Ford will get in touch with owners about this issue starting on July 25 and instruct them to return vehicles to dealers where the rear door latch will be replaced if necessary.
