We all know that Ford Mustang drivers and car meets don’t get along very well and in the U.S. recently, one Mustang driver proved just why you should always give the pony car a wide berth.

A clip of the incident was shared to Reddit. It initially shows a white Mustang pulling away from a car event, spinning up its wheels in the process and remarkably, being kept under control by its driver. However, immediately following this white Mustang was a red one and the driver of it wasn’t quite as skilled behind the wheel.

Doing what many Mustang drivers do, he pinned the throttle when pulling onto the street, kicking out the tail of the V8-powered muscle car. While it looks pretty impressive for a split second, the car quickly slides a little too much and the driver steps on the brakes. The car then fishtails to the left and slides into the grass median in the center of the road.

Fortunately for the driver, the car doesn’t appear to have hit anything solid and likely escaped without any damage. Unfortunately for them, a police officer witnessed the whole thing.

If you watch the video carefully, you’ll notice that the cop was in the background and traveling in the opposite direction when the Mustang owner started to spin up the car’s rear tires. The moment the Ford slid into the grass median, the cop switched on their siren and did a U-turn, pulling up in front of the Mustang.

It is unclear if the driver was issued a citation but even if they weren’t, this close-call should serve as an important lesson to them.
