Both the EQE 43 4MATIC and EQE 53 4MATIC+ models feature the same 90.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack but offer different levels of performance. Driving the 43 are a pair of electric motors that produce a combined 469 hp and 633 lb-ft (858 Nm) of torque, allowing it to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h). It has an estimated range of between 287-331 miles (462-533 km) under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure.
As for the EQE 53 4MATIC+, this gets an upgraded dual-motor system pumping out a combined 617 hp and 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of torque. 0-62 mph (100 km/h) comes in 3.5 seconds while top speed is increased to 137 mph (220 km/h). The driving range of the EQE 53 is set between 276 miles and 322 miles (444-518 km). Those after even more performance can have the EQE 53 equipped with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package that boosts power to 677 hp and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque, slashing the 0-62 mph time to 3.3 seconds and increasing the top speed top 149 mph (240 km/h).
A number of other important features are found in the two models. This includes a rear-axle steering system that allows the rear wheels to turn up to 3.6 degrees to improve handling at speeds above 37 mph (60 km/h). The new German electric sedan also features six-piston front brake calipers with 16.3-inch (415 mm) discs and single-piston rear calipers with 14.9-inch (378 mm) discs.
