A Ligier JS P4, a race car that almost looks like a spaceship from some angles, has hit the used car market and is looking for a new home. It isn’t road legal but could be perfect for anyone wanting a vehicle to take to their local track day and experience what it is like to be a professional race car driver.
Underpinning the JS P4 is a carbon fiber monocoque while power is provided by a rear-mounted 3.7-liter Ford Cyclone V6 pumping out 330 hp. This V6 is coupled to a six-speed Quaife transmission driving the rear wheels through a Torsen limited-slip differential.

As this is a proper racing car, it has been equipped with a 100-liter foam-lined fuel tank, a centrifugal clutch, and a pitlane anti-stall system. It is also fitted with a Tilton pedal box, electrically adjustable door mirrors, and a cockpit cooling system. Air conditioning is also fitted, as are air jacks, an ATL refueling system, Brembo six-piston brakes, and a heated windscreen.
The JS P4 is compliant with FIA Group E endurance racing regulations and the Collecting Cars listing reveals this example was formerly owned by McLaren Racing chief executive Zak Brown. It is being sold with just 18 running hours on the clock and sits on 18-inch Braid alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Total Performance Pilot Sport GT tires.
The exterior of the car is finished entirely in matte carbon fiber body panels, likely because Brown originally specified the racer as a demonstration vehicle, not to actually go racing with it. Anyone wanting to buy the car to actually hit the track with it would be wise to apply a paint protection film to some of the more vulnerable panels or risk having that carbon fiber damaged.
