The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup series has been racing and supporting European Formula 1 events for 30 years now, and the automaker behind the one-make series decided that was worth celebrating.
It has, therefore, tasked Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s new Sonderwunsch (special request) program to create a unique 911 celebrating the series’ milestone. The result is this special 911 GT3, the roadgoing version of the car that races in the Supercup.
“Every Sonderwunsch project is something very special – not only for the customers, but also for us,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualization and Classic at Porsche. “New projects means new challenges, and we learn something every time. That applies to this 911 GT3 – 30 Years of Porsche Supercup as well.”

The build took several weeks to complete and involved taking the vehicle apart completely before rebuilding it with a special design. Painted, rather than wrapped, in this special livery, the car features eight different paint colors: GT Silver Metallic, Agate Grey Metallic, high-gloss Black, Meteorgreymetallic, Parliamentgreymetallic, Volcanogreymetallic, Grigiogranitometallic and Diamondblackmetallic. The names of the 29 Porsche Supercup champions, meanwhile, are painted in gold.
Porsche says that applying the multicolor pixel mesh evenly across the body, with its complex curves and angles, was the hardest part of this build. The design, though, was inspired by the VIP car that invites celebrities to take the wheel at some of the series’ events.
In addition, a large number 30 is found on the door, the hood, and on the headrests inside, and the seats are finished in a special color combination (Black/Aurum) for this model. And that mesh pattern that was so complex on the exterior is also continued inside on the door-side armrests.
The model will now be displayed at Supercup races and later this summer it will make appearances at the Porsche Museum and the CityLife Showroom in Milan together with the 911 GT3 Cup VIP race car that inspired its design. Past Supercup champions will then be handed the keys to take the car on PR excursions for the company.
“Working with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur on this Factory Re-Commissioning was a great experience. And the 911 GT3 – 30 Years of Porsche Supercup is a worthy ambassador in our anniversary year,” said Oliver Schwab, project manager of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. “We say ‘Happy Birthday’ and look forward to many more years of racing on the most famous racetracks in the world.”
