Porsche Canada announced this week that it’s getting into the insurance game. Working with global professional services firm Aon, the automaker will now offer customers direct, high-quality insurance.
The automaker says that it will offer a range of insurance products with benefits tailored specifically to its customers. Customer service, it assures its loyal owners, will be one of the first priorities of the service.
That means that Porsche owners insuring their vehicle through the automaker can select benefits that ensure that their vehicle runs optimally throughout its life. To achieve that, OEM replacement parts will be used to repair vehicles in the event of a claim and they will be installed by Porsche-trained technicians at brand-approved facilities (where possible).

While their vehicle is undergoing repairs, Porsche customers who are insured through the automaker will also be provided with a comparable rental vehicle to minimize inconvenience. If the damage is greater and a vehicle is deemed a total loss (or it’s stolen) within 24 months of a new Porsche’s purchase date, they will receive the full value of the vehicle when it was new, not at a depreciated value.
If that all sounds appealing, customers will be able to speak with the experienced insurance professionals who are working with Porsche to get the optimal coverage plan. The company will even allow them to bundle auto insurance with other products, like home insurance, for additional discounts where eligible.
“We are pleased to be able to offer customers of the brand a compelling vehicle insurance option,” said David Williams, President and CEO, Porsche Financial Services Canada. “By combining our sports car expertise with Aon’s coverage know-how, Porsche insurance brings peace-of-mind to the most discerning customers.”
