Building a car that hits all of the high notes is tough. Crafting an automobile that’s beautiful to look at, great to drive, and a pleasure to occupy is rare and that’s why it’s so special when those pillars come together. Typically though, it’s not the interior that ends up being the weak spot. With that in mind, we’re wondering which beautiful car has the lamest interior of them all?
Cars made 30 to 40 years ago might be the biggest offenders. For example, take a look at the inside of a 1985 Porsche 911 and you’ll quickly notice that it’s not much to write home about. Squares were all the rage and the problem swept the globe. The Chevrolet Corvette from the same time period only seems less lame because it featured a digital dashboard. Of course, the Vette isn’t considered as beautiful by most.
Smaller boutique manufacturers that built cars with sexy lines didn’t fare much better. The DeLorean might be one of the most famous cars ever with an interior that could put you to sleep with regard to its interior design. Modern cars have mostly made big steps forward but there are some notable exceptions there too.

The original Dodge Viper is well-known for being one of the sexiest cars ever developed in America during the last half-century but to sit inside one you’d never know it. From cheap plastics to huge panel gaps to buttons and switchgear that could’ve come out of a Caravan, the only part that made it feel special was the snake emblem staring back from the steering wheel.
Perhaps it’s less about features and styling and more about space for some. The Fisker Karma is an excellent example of a car that’s striking in terms of style but short on space. It’s so tight in the cabin that it’s considered a subcompact by the EPA. We bet that if you were hoping to be chauffeured around in the extended-range EV that you’d feel like the limited legroom and headroom in the back would feel pretty lame.
We get the feeling that you have some excellent entries on this list as well though so you tell us. What’s the most beautiful car with the lamest interior out there?
