Ford has been the victim of another theft, with 15 highly sought-after vehicles having reportedly been stolen from a storage lot it operates in Dearborn, Michigan.
Unnamed sources familiar with the situation told Ford Authority about the robbery, which includes F-150 Raptors, Explorers, and Lincoln Aviators, all high-priced vehicles. Several of them were recovered by police and TCD Dearborn News reports that the value of the stolen vehicles amounts to around $1.3 million.
The automaker has been plagued by thefts for some time now and, as recently as in June, the company had $1 million worth of F-150 Raptors driven away from its Dearborn Assembly Plant in Michigan.

Following that theft, a City of Dearborn official said that there was evidence that fences surrounding the complex had been rammed. Although 13 trucks were recovered, there were signs of damage to those vehicles, and some of their parts, such as tires, were stripped away.
On July 27, meanwhile, Ford’s Dearborn plant was targeted again and multiple F-150 Raptors were stolen by perpetrators wearing ski masks. This time, though, one of the trucks was stopped by police, and three suspects were taken into custody.
Ford’s rugged pickup truck isn’t the only one being targeted by thieves, nor is this wave of thefts limited to the Dearborn plant. Again in June, between four and five Ford Mustang Shelby GT500s were stolen from the automaker’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant.
TCD Dearborn News reported last month that between July 2021 and July 2022, as many as 75 Ford F-150 pickup trucks were stolen from the automaker’s storage lots. Estimates suggest that the value of the vehicles stolen over that period amounts to nearly $5 million.
While that’s a problem for Ford, it’s also a problem for the residents of Dearborn, who claim that the rash of thefts is so bad that their insurance rates have gone up since they began.
