The all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQB has just been introduced for the Australian market, following in the footsteps of the smaller EQA that launched in 2021.
Two variants of the EQB are available for the local market. The first is the entry-level EQB 250 equipped with a 66.5 kWh battery pack and a single electric motor powering the front wheels. This motor is good for 140 kW (188 hp) and 385 Nm (284 lb-ft) of torque and Mercedes-Benz quotes a WLTP range of 371 km (230 miles).
A host of creature comforts come standard with the EQB 250. These include two 10.25-inch displays, Artico upholstery across the electrically adjusted and heated front seats, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, Apple and Android integration, and an ambient lighting system. It also features LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, and 19-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Topping out the Australian range is the EQB 350. It too has a 66.5 kWh battery pack but features two motors, one at the front and one at the rear, which combine to produce 215 kW (288 hp) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the SUV to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.2 seconds. It has a quoted range of 360 km (224 miles).
The EQB 350 also comes standard with a bunch of additional features. These include sports seats with adjustable head restraints and microfiber inserts with red contrast stitching, a multi-function sports steering wheel in Nappa leather, AMG floor mats, and illuminated door sills. It also adds an electronically-controlled panoramic glass sunroof, AMG-specific body styling with additional pieces of chrome, a re-shaped rear bumper, and 20-inch AMG wheels. Prices for the EQB 350 start at AU$106,700 ($76,003).
An Edition 1 package is also available for the EQB 250 and 350 models for a limited time. It sports AMG-inspired body elements and EQ-specific interior parts and adds AU$9,100 ($6,482) to the price of the EQB 250 and AU$3,900 ($2,778) to the price of the EQB 350 4MATIC.
