Monterey Car Week is shaping up to be jam-packed with debuts and that’s clear once again as Bugatti has teased a mysterious new offering.

In a short video, the automaker said they will “unlock an icon” on August 19th at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

That isn’t much to go on and neither is the teaser video, which simply shows a headlight. However, it gives us a few clues as the headlight doesn’t resemble the one found on traditional versions of the Chiron.

Instead, it features a vertical design which is vaguely reminiscent of the Bolide and Divo. That being said, it’s clear this model is something else as the headlight is different as it features four rows of horizontal LEDs. This suggests the car is an all-new special edition, one-off, or concept.

We’ll learn more later this week, but Chiron production is quickly coming to a close. Last month, Bugatti announced the final Chiron Super Sport 300+ was delivered to its owner. Earlier this year, they delivered the final Chiron and Chiron Sports in Europe and they were L’Ébé editions that paid tribute to Ettore Bugatti’s daughter.

While it remains unclear what Bugatti is teasing, the company is already looking towards the future as the Bugatti-Rimac joint venture was announced last summer. There hasn’t been much change yet, but the companies have already stated “jointly developed Bugatti models are planned for the longer term.”
