It is no secret that a MotoGP bike is extraordinarily quick but can a Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder, outfitted with two turbochargers and producing 1,100 hp, compete with one in a straight-line?
To answer that question, CarWow recently pitted the duo together for a series of performance tests. Behind the wheel of the modified Lamborghini was the YouTube channel’s Mat Waton while riding the KTM MotoGP bike was ex-racer Dani Pedrosa, widely regarded as one of the finest motorcycle racers to never win a MotoGP championship, finishing second in the title three times and third a further three times.
On paper, you may think that the two match up quite well. Obviously, the Lamborghini has a significant power advantage but it also weighs significantly more, tipping the scales at 1,507 kg (3,322 lbs), roughly ten times the weight of the MotoGP bike. Driving the latter is a 1.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with approximately 270 hp and 88 lb-ft (120 Nm) of torque.

In the first race between the two, the all-wheel drive of the Lamborghini gives it an advantage off the line but as the speeds built, the motorcycle quickly overtakes the Italian supercar and claims an easy victory. The second race didn’t go so well for Pedrosa on the bike as he dumped the clutch too quickly and spun up the rear tire, forcing him to abandon the run and giving the Lamborghini an easy victory.
For the third and final race, the Huracan once again got an excellent launch but just like in the first, the MotoGP bike screamed past and took another win.
A rolling race from third gear is then held. While the Lamborghini is exceptionally quick thanks to its pair of turbocharges, it can’t keep pace with the KTM. A race with the Huracan in third gear and the bike in fith gear is a little closer but once again, it is the two-wheeler that wins.
