Could the next-generation Toyota Camry take inspiration from the new Crown line-up?
Hot on the heels of Toyota unveiling four different body styles for the new-age 2023 Crown, automotive designer Theottle has used the Crown Sport Concept as the base for a next-generation Toyota Camry. The result is certainly quite striking.
The next-generation Camry is expected to launch in the coming years, possibly as a 2024 or 2025 model. Very little is known about the car, including what it will look like, but if it looks something like this, you certainly wouldn’t hear us complaining.
While the Toyota Crown Sport Concept takes the form of a crossover sedan, Theottle has tweaked its proportions and design to fit over the body of the current Camry.
Visible at the front end of the ninth-generation Camry pictured is a striking front end with lobster-claw LED headlights. It also features the same aggressive black grille as the Crown Sport Concept and would certainly make a serious impression on the road if it looked something like this. The presence of gloss black wheels adds to the overall look of the car and really makes it stand out.

The rear of the Camry has also been overhauled with parts from the Crown Sport Concept, including the LED taillights and light bar. The overall shape of the decklid is similar to the current model, although that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
It is understood that the next-generation Camry will retain the same GA-K architecture as the current model. Some reports state that Toyota may stretch the car’s wheelbase to increase cabin space.
In terms of powertrains, Wheels reports that Toyota will ditch the 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 available in the current car and replace it with a new 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is good for approximately 265 hp (198 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque.
