The Monterey Car Week is upon us and one of the most exciting reveals scheduled is the new 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The date for that reveal was set on August 17 but now it seems that images of the production-spec car have already leaked online. What we’re seeing here is a few old-school Porsche touches along with a lot of advanced aerodynamics.
Over the last few months, we’ve noticed as Porsche has tested what we suspected was the GT3 RS so unless this is just an incredibly spot-on rendering then what we’re looking at in these leaked photos is indeed the car debuting tomorrow. Road and Track noticed these six different images that were posted to both Facebook and Instagram early yesterday.
In them, we get a clear look at the classic GT3 RS Porsche font emblazoned on the side of the two-door supercar along with a lot of other finalized details. The first is the abundance of hardcore aero bits on just about every surface. The front of the car features the same L-shaped hood vents that we saw on the development car along with fender vents and slightly modified inlets on the bumper.
Moreover, the wheel arches have sharp blade-like winglets to smooth airflow. A huge rear wing can be seen in two different positions. One seems to be totally open while the other shows a portion of the wing in a steep slant, presumably to allow for a dynamic change in downforce.
In the cabin, there are four different drive mode dials on the steering wheel. That’s far more than the standard single dial found in the car this one will replace and, presumably, they are used to adjust different functions of the car. At this point, we’re still waiting to hear about specifications but expect this hardcore, lightweight Porsche to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 550 horsepower (410 kW). We should have all the details by tomorrow.
