What’s one surefire way to make a C5-generation Chevrolet Corvette stand out from all others? How about turning it into an off-roader?
That’s exactly what the owner of this ‘Vette has done and the car has now been listed up for sale at Marketplace, meaning you could be driving around in a Corvette that can double as a capable drag racer and a willing off-roader.
In modifying the car, the owner lifted the suspension by a massive four inches and installed a set of new wheels wrapped in 33-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. The fenders had to be cut up to accommodate the new tires and they do stick out from the guards by a couple of inches.

Jalopnik notes that the owner initially fitted a rubber block on the car’s original leaf spring suspension but soon discovered that he wasn’t able to properly steer the car when the off-road tires were installed. As such, it has now been outfitted with the aforementioned lifted coil-over springs and videos shared to YouTube confirm that the ‘Vette can easily go where no other C5 can.
This isn’t the first Corvette off-roader the gentleman has built as a couple of years ago he made similar modifications to a C4-generation ‘Vette.
It doesn’t appear as though any upgrades have been made to the car’s powertrain, meaning it continues to be powered by a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated LS1 V8 pumping out 345 hp back in the day. The modifications have seen the car’s 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time swell to approximately 6.7 seconds but we think the trade-off is well worth it.
