The Genesis Electrified GV70 has touched down on Australian shores and will soon reach the hands of customers.
The all-electric GV70 has been positioned as the new flagship model in the GV70 range, sitting above the 2.5-liter, 2.2-liter turbo-diesel, and 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 variants. It will be offered exclusively with the Luxury Package and starts at a cool AU$127,800 ($85,932).
Driving the Electrified GV70 are a pair of electric motors that produce a combined 360 kW (482 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque on overboost. Feeding these motors with juice is a 77.4 kWh battery pack with a 400V/800V multi-rapid charging system that allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes when connected to a 350 kW rapid charger. Much like other Hyundai Motor Group EVs to use this electrical architecture, the Electrified GV70 offers Vehicle to Load functionality, allowing the SUV to act as a mobile power source.

Genesis says the EV can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. It has also been equipped with an e-Terrain mode that allows the driving dynamics to be tweaked depending on the driving conditions.
Australian customers will be offered the choice between 13 exterior colors, consisting of nine gloss finishes and four optional matte finishes. A new color introduced for the electric version of the GV70 is Atacama Copper, inspired by Chile’s Atacama Desert.
Included in the purchase price of all Electrified GV70 models is a 5-year / unlimited kilometer warranty, 8-year battery warranty, 5-year complimentary servicing, 5-year Genesis To You & valet service, 10-year 24/7 roadside assistance, 10-year complimentary map updates, and the choice of a 5-year Chargefox subscription or a home A/C charger and installation.
“We are immensely excited to introduce three new all-electric models this year, as the first realization of our vision of creating a sustainable mobility future with electrification front and centre,” head of Genesis Motors Australia Connal Yan said in a statement. “The arrival of the progressive Electrified GV70, along with the dedicated electric GV60 and Electrified G80, will represent an audacious stride into that future.”
