Honda is preparing to add another SUV to its TrailSport lineup with the 2023 Pilot. It calls the vehicle its most rugged SUV ever and has revealed a few morsels of information today with its latest teaser.According to the Japanese carmaker, the new SUV will feature a collection of modifications to make it more capable off-road. Among them are steel skid plates, standard all-terrain tires, an off-road tuned suspension, and expanded all-wheel-drive system capabilities.
In addition, a collection of new photos show a little bit of the front and rear of the vehicle, we can now see the TrailSport badges that grace the grille and the tailgate. The black badge features an orange mountain range to remind viewers that the SUV has been tested on challenging terrain across the U.S.

Along with the badging, Honda appears to have broken out the black sharpie and colored almost all of the trim black for this model. Beyond the black grille, the lower outboard inlets also have black trim surrounds. Right at the bottom of the front fascia, there is, however, a silver piece, likely to signal that there is a steel skid plate beyond it.
At the back, meanwhile, the SUV features a black spoiler, black roof rails, and a black trim section that stretches between the taillights. On it, the name of the vehicle is written prominently. The rear bumper also features a silver trim piece, mirroring the front, and through the grass, a trailer hitch can be seen poking through the bumper.
Our best look yet at the new Pilot, which is being updated for the 2023 model year, it appears that all versions of the SUV will be squared off and made more rugged with this new generation. Expected to be based on the same platform as the 2022 Acura MDX, it should be stiffer than the outgoing model and could get a double-wishbone suspension.
A specific date for the unveiling of the 2023 Pilot and Pilot TrailSport has not yet been set, but Honda said today that it will be revealed this fall.
