The stampede of Mustang teasers continues as Ford has released a new video as well as an image showing the seventh-generation pony car under a sheet.

Starting with the latter, it doesn’t reveal much but it gives us a glimpse of the Mustang’s evolutionary lines. In particular, the shape of the hood appears similar to today’s model, but the grille seems to be more upright and prominent.

Elsewhere, we can see a long hood and a rakish windscreen that flows into a steeply sloping roof. The model also has muscular rear fenders and what appears to be a relatively modest spoiler.

The teaser video, on the other hand, is an audible delight as you can hear the car making a high-speed run, changing gears, and then downshifting. Unfortunately, there’s no car to be seen as the clip simply shows the Mustang logo.

The 2024 Ford Mustang will debut on September 14th in downtown Detroit and it’s slated to ride on a rear-wheel drive architecture shared with the Explorer and Aviator. While both of those crossovers offer all-wheel drive, it appears the Mustang will remain rear-wheel drive only.

Recent reports have also suggested the hybrid variant has been shelved, despite being officially announced in 2018. As a result, we can expect a familiar engine lineup that includes a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with around 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) as well as a 5.0-liter V8 that could develop nearly 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS).

One thing that won’t be evolutionary is the interior, which sports a digital instrument cluster and a new infotainment system. They’ll be joined by higher quality materials and a modern design.
