The oft-delayed FF 91 Futurist is inching closer to production as Faraday Future has revealed the crossover has an EPA range of 381 miles (613 km).

The company noted this is a “significant increase” over previous estimates, which originally pegged the range at a relatively vague 300+ miles (483 km). It’s also worth noting the range easily beats other electric crossovers such as the 312 mile (502 km) Cadillac Lyriq.  It even bests the Tesla Model X, which carries an EPA rating of up to 348 miles (560 km).

The impressive numbers don’t end with the range as the 91 is slated to have a tri-motor all-wheel drive system that features rear torque vectoring as well as a combined output of 1,050 hp (783 kW / 1,065 PS). The company has previously said this will enable the crossover to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.39 seconds.

Faraday Future CEO Carsten Breitfeld noted the EPA certification is a “huge step in getting this car in the hands of our users.” He went on to say the “confirmation of our 381 miles (613 km) of range by the EPA is truly exciting news for FF and validates what we know about the FF 91: the segment leading FF 91 will be the first high-end, high-performance, luxury, intelligent EV and will reset customer expectations for both driver and passenger experience.”

While the FF 91 is years behind schedule, the company recently said their California factory is nearing completion and has already been building production-intent vehicles for testing and validation. That process is expected to wrap up in the fourth quarter, which should enable the automaker to begin retail production and deliveries by the end of the year.
