The Lancia Stratos HF Stradale is a true automotive icon and in just a few days, a particularly gorgeous example will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s at its sales event in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
The Stratos first established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the World Rally Championship, ultimately claiming manufacturers’ titles from 1974 to 1976. This particular road-going example is a 1975 model and is expected to sell for between CHF 600,000 ($613,000) and CHF 700,000 ($716,000).

RM Sotheby’s states that chassis 1666 was delivered to its first owner in Padova on May 22, 1975. Unfortunately, the car’s original owner crashed it into a tree the following year, causing irreparable damage to the chassis. The Stratos was then rebuilt by a local Lancia dealer on a new chassis.
The original owner kept the car until 1986 when it passed into the hands of its second owner, who retained ownership until 1994. The Lancia was later passed through the hands of brand specialist Key Sport before it was sold in February 2007 and exported to Italy in November 2008. The listing reveals it then passed through the hands of owners in Monaco and Germany before arriving in Switzerland later that year.
Adorning the exterior of the car is a striking Red-Orange paint scheme complemented by lovely bronze Campagnolo alloy wheels. With the exception of the crash, it looks to have been well maintained over the years. The interior appears to be in particularly good condition and sports ‘Havana’ Alcantara across the bucket seats.
