Lexus today announced that it will extend the trial period for its Safety Connect and Service Connect features to 10 years on some vehicles.
The product offers 24-hour emergency assistance and 24-hour enhanced roadside assistance, along with a variety of other services. The trial will be extended for the 2023 Lexus ES, NX, LS, LX, RX, RZ, and UX, in addition to the 2022 NX and LX models, at no extra cost.
Among the services offered as part of the trial are the Emergency Assistance (SOS) features, which allows drivers to connect to Lexus’ Safety Connect response center in the event of a traffic accident or other health emergency.

The service also offers Automatic Collision Notification, which does the same, but is triggered automatically any time the airbags deploy. The Stolen Vehicle Locator allows the Safety Connect response center to work with police to help track a stolen vehicle using GPS.
The service also offers owners roadside assistance, which uses GPS to help Lexus‘ team locate your vehicle to help a technician give the vehicle a jump-start, some fuel, a new tire, or a tow where necessary.
Before that happens, though, Service Connect can give owners vehicle health reports, vehicle alerts, and maintenance alerts on their smart device. Customers can access the information by downloading the Lexus app and signing in.
“We are constantly looking at ways to offer our guests an enhanced driving experience,” said Steve Basra, group vice president, Connected Technologies, Toyota Motor North America. “With our new extended trials of Connected Services, a wide array of features is now available to Lexus drivers, so they can have added peace of mind.”
