Ahead of this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, McLaren has revealed a special livery that they’ll be running on their MCL36 F1 car to celebrate the return to racing in Asia. The livery sees the already-bold Papaya Orange joined by splashes of neon pink and futuristic engine illustrations, making for what is quite possibly the most ostentatious paint scheme on the grid – albeit temporarily.

Dubbed “Future Mode”, the livery will also be available in the F1 22 video game, and a limited-edition Future Mode t-shirt will be made available for purchase through McLaren’s online merchandise store.

Contrary to most other special liveries, this one will be on the car for more than one race. Since it’s celebrating Formula 1‘s return to Asia as a whole, it will adorn the MCL36 for the two back-to-back Asian races in Singapore and Japan.

Both of these races have been off the calendar since the COVID-19 pandemic shook things up in 2020, meaning it’s been three years since either of the iconic circuits have been put to use.

“We’re excited to celebrate our partnership with OKX through this bold and vibrant livery for the upcoming races in Asia,” said Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing. “McLaren and OKX are united in driving ahead and constantly striving to break boundaries, and the Future Mode campaign is an opportunity to champion these values together on our global stage. It’s fantastic to be returning to race in Singapore and Japan, and these incredible circuits provide a fitting backdrop for us to celebrate our partnership vision together.”
