This is the Adventure 1, an electric off-road recreational vehicle, as described by Potential Motors, that, ahem, pardon the pun, has a lot of potential.
The Adventure 1’s size and shape may be the first thing that intrigues you. It is just 64-inches wide, quite typical of a traditional recreational side-by-side, something that Potential Motors notes allows it to access ATV trails typically inaccessible to trucks and SUVs. It is 178-inches long and rocks a 105-inch wheelbase.

The van shape of the Adventure 1 lends itself well to off-roading and allows for a 40-degree approach, 45-degree departure, and 29-degree breakover angles. Potential Motors has also equipped it with plenty of parts to protect it, including a front skid plate, a front winch, and rugged body protection. It also features an independent suspension that the carmaker says allows it to easily climb rocks and bumps.
In case you hadn’t already guessed, the Adventure 1 is all-electric and features a pair of motors that combine to produce 604 hp and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Potential Motors claims it has an off-road range of 100 miles (160 km) thanks to the 70 kWh battery pack. It is not yet known how quickly this battery can be recharged.
A peek inside the cabin reveals that this really is a go-anywhere vehicle that could be perfect for extended trips in the wilderness. In fact, it features an integrated full-size bed that can comfortably sleep 2. There is also an integrated, modular kitchen that seamlessly pulls out from the back of the vehicle and includes a 2-burner propane stove, fridge, kitchen accessories, water, and a sink. There is also over 2,500 liters (88 cubic feet) of dry interior storage and 40 liters (1.4 cubic feet) of water storage.
Potential Motors plans to sell the Adventure 1 for $136,000 and only intends on ever producing it in limited numbers.
