Skoda is often teasing new or facelifted production models with official sketches but this time the Czech brand has something more special for its fanbase. The latest teaser shows the Skoda Vision GT, a digital-only single-seater electric racecar inspired by the 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC.
The Skoda Vision GT is envisioned as an open-top single-seater with a low-slung silhouette and active aerodynamics. The bodystyle, proportions, and red shade are clear references to the 1100 OHC, but the rest of the design is quite modern with sharp lines.

The new Skoda Vision GT features a front end highlighted by the slim LED headlights, the prominent splitter, and large intakes. The profile is muscular with a long bonnet and massive alloy wheels, while the rear end has a batmobile look to it thanks to the integrated two-piece rear wing that was inspired by Formula E single-seaters. Skoda lettering is present on the nose, and at the back in the form of a hologram.
Inside, there is a futuristic carbon steering wheel with a flattened top and bottom, as well as a horizontally arranged screen doubling as a windscreen. The driver’s helmet visor has an integrated head-up display, while the “active cockpit” with a flexible seat is designed to compensate for g-forces. Skoda didn’t announce the specifications of the fully electric powertrain, but we expect the Vision GT to be ridiculously fast since it belongs to the digital world.
The design study is the latest installment of Skoda’s “Icons Get a Makeover” series and is not intended for production. Instead, it will be showcased at the “Design and Transformation” exhibition in Brussels, celebrating the EU presidency of the Czech Republic for the period between July and December 2022. It is not clear if the concept will be a part of the Gran Turismo series which is usually the case with virtual racecars bearing the “Vision GT” name.
