A 2008 Honda S2000 has sold for a staggering $125,000 on Bring a Trailer, making it the second most-expensive S2K ever sold on the popular auction website.
Immediately making this S2000 special from most others in the United States is that it is one of approximately 700 Club Racer (or CR) models built. This car has previously lived in Chicago, Illinois and Manitoba, Canada before being acquired by the seller in May 2019. It was sold with ~6,000 miles (~9,600 km) on the clock, multiple keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Adorning the exterior of the S2000 is a gorgeous shade dubbed Apex Blue Pearl that looks to have been very well maintained by the car’s previous owners. The CR is also distinguished from lesser S2000 models thanks to a unique front fascia, a large fixed rear wing, and a removable black hardtop.

The listing reveals that the car is still equipped with the original 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires. As a CR, it also benefits from higher-rate springs, stiffer anti-roll bars, and a quicker steering ratio.
Honda also made some tweaks to the CR’s interior. For example, the seats are clad in black Alcantara and come complete with yellow inserts and stitching. Given that the car has only been driven a touch over 6,000 miles, it comes as no surprise that the interior shows very little signs of ageing and looks like it just rolled out of the factory.
Prices of used Honda S2000 models have jumped considerably in recent years, so much so that it is now hard to buy one for anything less than $30,000 unless it has well over 20,000 miles on the clock. The CR variant has proven particularly popular among enthusiasts and collectors in in July, one with 34,000 miles (~54,700 km) and painted white sold for $110,000, though the record holder is a 123-mile (197 km) example that was auctioned for $200,000 on BaT this past April.
