Volkswagen is preparing itself for the IAA Transportation 2022 show with a selection of handy commercial vehicles. The marquee model is an ID. Buzz tasked with a lifesaving duty.
Built by Bösenberg, the model is a brightly-colored paramedic’s vehicle. Few details are shared regarding it, but the exterior features an orange and yellow livery with a green plug whose cable is shaped like the line on a heart-rate monitor.
The electric van also features blue and white lights on top and white highlights on the body that look surprisingly good. The ID. Buzz Cargo, on which this is presumably based, has an interior load space capacity of 3.9 cubic meters (138 cubic feet), and 2,123 mm (6.9 feet) of space behind the front seats, which should be enough to carry the vast majority of patients, although Shaq might have to stick his head between the seats.

While the private customer version of the vehicle is sold out in Europe, the ID. Buzz cargo starts at £38,125 ($43,525 USD at current exchange rates) in England. It features a 77 kWh battery pack, which powers the front wheels, and is good for a range of up to 256 miles (413 km) on the WLTP test cycle.
It won’t be all about the EVs for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at IAA Transportation 2022, though. The automaker is also bringing other vehicles to show off how versatile its range is.
There will, for example, be a large taxi version of the 2021 Multivan that can now be ordered straight from the plant. It will also show off a Crafter van that is capable of off-road driving, and another that can be used as a mobile e-bike workshop from third-party manufacturer Kögel/Flexmo.
In all, 30 modified VW vans will be shown off at the show, in addition to the brand new Amarok pickup truck.
