The all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be able to travel 381 miles (614 km) on a single charge under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).
Much like the Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Genesis GV60, the Ioniq 6 is based on the Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and will be sold with 53 kWh and 77.4 kWh battery packs, both using 800-volt technology. This will allow the EV’s battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
Entry-level Ioniq 6 models are equipped with the aforementioned 53 kWh battery pack, rear-wheel drive, and 18-inch wheels. This variant uses just 13.9 kWh/100 km and can travel 429 km (267 miles) on a full charge.
Shoppers will then have two options of 77.4 kWh models available. The more affordable will be the rear-wheel drive variant, which offers the longest driving range in the lineup, at 614 km (381 miles) when fitted with 18-inch wheels and using 14.3 kWh/100 km. The rear-wheel drive variant can also be fitted with 20-inch wheels, lowering the WLTP range to 545 km (339 miles) and making energy efficiency swell to 16 kWh/100 km.

Last but not least is the 77.4 kWh, all-wheel drive model, also available with 18-inch and 20-inch wheels that provide the Ioniq 6 with 583 km (362 miles) and 519 km (322 miles) of range respectively (15.1 kWh/100 km and 16.0 kWh/100 km).
Key to the Ioniq 6’s efficiency is its aerodynamic design and drag coefficient of just 0.21, one of the lowest in the industry. Aero aids include an active air flap, wheel air curtains, integrated rear spoiler, and wheel gap reducers.
“We put every effort into designing the most efficient car in the EV segment,” head of Total Vehicle Performance Development Centre at Hyundai Motor Company, Byung Hoon Min said. “Our focus on improving aerodynamics helped to achieve one of the longest all-electric range vehicles available, which will reduce customers’ EV range anxiety and help grow the segment.”
