Miami is known for its beaches and nightlife, but Nissan is using the city’s auto show to introduce the facelifted Versa.
Set to go on sale this fall, the 2023 Versa has a new front fascia and a radically different take on the company’s V-motion grille. The latter is significantly wider and taller than before, while also losing its prominent frame.
Elsewhere, the sedan has been equipped with new Nissan logos and restyled 17-inch wheels on the range-topping SR trim. Buyers will also find a new Gray Sky Pearl exterior, which is available on everything except the entry-level S variant.

Moving into the cabin, there are a handful of changes including a new S Plus package for the entry-level trim. It sees the standard 15-inch steel wheels replaced by 16-inch alloy units, while also adding a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The package also gives the 7-inch infotainment system Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility as it’s surprisingly not standard.
The mid-level Versa SV receives a handful of updates including a new Chambray interior color. Buyers will also find a wireless smartphone charger as well as a new center console with an armrest.
The Nissan Versa SR ups the ante with a larger 8-inch infotainment system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Intelligent Cruise Control. The model also gains an automatic climate control system and the aforementioned center console with armrest.
Despite being value-focused, Nissan says the Versa comes with the most standard safety features in its class. Among the highlights are Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking. Customers can also order additional safety features such as Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Motivation continues to be provided by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 122 hp (91 kW / 124 PS) and 114 lb-ft (154 Nm) of torque. It comes paired to a five-speed manual on the entry-level Versa S, but higher-end variants have a standard Xtronic continuously variable transmission.
