Ford is preparing something related to the Ranger Raptor as hinted at by a short video post on social media. The dark teaser shows a Ranger Raptor with an extra roof-mounted LED bar while we listen to revving sounds of the engine.
Ford Australia and Ford Performance published the video teaser on both Facebook and Instagram, accompanied by the following description: “Testing and development doesn’t stop when the sun goes down”, with the date “01.11.2022” referring to Tuesday, November 1.

The second-gen Ranger Raptor was introduced in February 2022, but the specifications for the US version set to arrive next year have yet to be announced. Thus, there is a chance the teaser is about the US-spec model, although the date format suggests otherwise. Some commenters wondered if Ford is working on a more powerful Ranger Raptor R, or if this is a rally-prepped version of the pickup for Baja racing. The automaker has officially pulled out of SEMA so this is definitely not a concept for this year’s show.
The Raptor-badged Ford Ranger has different specs depending on the market. Australia gets the most powerful version with the twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 petrol producing 392 hp (292 kW / 397 PS). Europeans on the other hand will have access to a toned-down version of the V6 with 284 hp (212 kW / 288 PS) due to emission regulations. A slightly updated version of the bi-turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel of the previous generation will also be available in select markets including Europe.
