Hennessey Performance has just revealed the latest update to its fleet of Ford Broncos that pumps the power of the Raptor up by nearly 20 percent over its previous effort. Dubbed the VelociRaptor 500 Bronco, the SUV makes, as the name suggests, 500 hp (373 kW/507 PS).

The tuner’s last modified Bronco, the VelociRaptor 400 Bronco, made 411 hp (306 kW/417 PS), from the 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This model, meanwhile, uses the Bronco Raptor’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, along with a raft of other modifications to pump the horsepower figure up even higher.

Hennessey’s newest model isn’t better than its last in every respect, though. The power comes at the expense of torque. The brand’s previous effort raised torque to 600 lb-ft (813 Nm). The VelociRaptor 500 Bronco, meanwhile, gets 550 lb-ft (746 Nm).

Either way, though, it’s a healthy amount of oomph, and it’s more than the standard V6 Bronco, which makes 330 hp (246 kW/335 PS) and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm) of torque. That’s also more than Ford’s Bronco Raptor, which makes 418 hp (312 kW/424 PS) and 440 lb-ft (597 Nm) of torque.

“Our customers are big fans of the new Bronco, but they’ve been asking us for more power and greater performance capabilities from day one,” said John Hennessey, the company’s founder and CEO. “Ford’s Raptor version is a big improvement, but the engine has even more potential. Our engineering team has released its potency to create the ultimate all-powerful off-road SUV.”

How Much Does It Cost?

The package itself is priced from $32,950 on top of the cost of a base Ford Bronco Raptor, which starts at $73,780. All in, you’re talking $106,730. For that, you get enhanced air induction, a high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve, an upgraded engine management system, new bumpers, 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 37-inch tires, Hennessey Heritage graphics, VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging, and more. The model also comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile (57,936 km) Hennessey warranty.
