Ken Block, pro driver and creator of the Gymkhana series of videos, is finally back for his first full production since leaving Ford. Now that he has partnered with Audi, he’s in an insane electric rally car in Sin City.

For this video, Audi went all out, providing the rally driver with a new interpretation of one of its most famous, and one of Block’s most favorite competition cars. Dubbed the Audi S1 Hoonitron, it’s an homage to the Audi Sport Quattro S1 that raced up PIkes Peak in the ’80s.

Made to order for Block and this video, the car is powered by two electric motors borrowed from Audi’s Formula E program. They each make 2,212 lb-ft (3,000 Nm) of torque, which is plenty to get the carbon fiber car spinning and sliding through the streets of Las Vegas.

“With the S1 Hoonitron we broke entirely new ground at Audi,” says Oliver Hoffmann, Member of the Board for Technical Development at AUDI AG. “Developing a fully electric prototype for the unique requirements of our partner Ken Block was a big and exciting challenge to which the whole team rose with flying colors. It is great to see how ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ is presented in an all-new environment.”

Shot at night, the video sees the S1 Hoonitron drift in front of the city’s take on the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, smack punching bags in front of a boxing ring, and do a dizzying number of donuts under a Las Vegas sign.

Also featured in the video are a number of current and classic Audi products, strewn about the streets of the city, to witness Block’s electric tomfoolery. Among them are the Audi 90 IMSA GTO (1989), the Audi 200 Trans Am (1988), the Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak (1987), the Audi quattro Gruppe B A2 (1984) as well as the Audi R8 LMP and Audi R18 e-tron quattro from Le Mans, and more. One of that last car’s drivers, the legendary Tom Kristensen, even makes a brief appearance in the film.
