Drifting a car up a tight and twisty section of mountain road is challenging and the owner of a Lamborghini Huracan Evo recently discovered what can go wrong if you make even the smallest mistake behind the wheel.

This particular pink Huracan Evo is owned by Giacomo Ghermandi who just so happens to be a racing driver in the TCR Europe series. Despite his skills behind the wheel and immense levels of car control, his drifting antics almost left his Lamborghini needing an expensive new bumper and perhaps some other parts.

The clip of the close-call shared to Instagram shows Ghermandi piloting the mid-engined Italian supercar up a gorgeous mountain road, first drifting around a right-hand bend and then kicking out the Huracan’s rear to drift around a left-hand bend. However, Ghermandi ended up a little too close to the apex of the corner, coming within millimeters of hitting a small white post on the inside of the turn.

While the post is small and likely quite fragile, it could have left the Huracan with some nasty damage, including a destroyed front bumper and perhaps a damaged front quarter panel. While we have no doubt Ghermandi would have been able to easily afford any necessary repairs, we’re sure he’d prefer not to have to make them in the first place.
