The Mitsubishi Outlander family in Japan has grown with the launch of the new Black Edition while some upgrades have also been made to the pre-existing standard model.
The Outlander’s new Black Edition is based around the ‘G’ grade and sports black across the front grille, front and rear skid plates, and wing mirrors. It also receives gloss black center and quarter panels and sits in a set of distinctive 20-inch aluminum wheels, also finished in black.
Mitsubishi also offers the Outlander Black Edition in a new two-tone finish of Titanium Gray Metallic / Black Mica. Three other two-tone color options are available, as are two monotone options. Rounding out the tweaks made to the Black Edition include a black ceiling and a unique shift panel with laser etching.

As for updates to the Outlander range, Mitsubishi has added an in-vehicle WiFi connection available for a flat rate and providing unlimited data. The automaker has also added a new door lock/unlock function for the ‘My Mitsubishi Connect’ system that supports a host of new functions.
A pair of two new two-tone colors have also been added to the range, consisting of Red Diamond / Black Mica and Sterling Silver Metallic / Black Mica.
Japanese buyers can order the Outlander in M, G, and P configurations, alongside the new Black Edition. Prices kick off from 4,621,100 yen ($31,775) for the 5-seat Outlander M and increase to 4,959,900 yen ($34,104) for the 5-seater Outlander G, 5,051,200 yen ($34,733) for the 7-seater Outlander G, and 5,485,700 yen )$37,713) for the 7-seater Outlander P. The Black Edition is available in 5-seat and 7-seat guises, priced from 5,047,900 yen ($34,710) and 5,139,200 yen ($35,383) respectively.
