Back in July, EV startup Drako teased a new coupe-ish crossover called the Dragon. Now, ahead of an official unveiling, a video of the upcoming electric SUV has surfaced online, showing it driving on European roads.

Posted by @Cochespias1, the video appears to have been shot in Italy, based on the facts that it is credited to @autoitaliana and that the Fiat 500XL ahead of the POV car appears to have an Italian license plate.

In the video, the Drako Dragon moves slowly through an intersection, followed by a Mercedes camera car with a Russian Arm on top, suggesting that Drako is in the process of filming promotional materials for the upcoming vehicle.

It’s unclear if this is a production-ready example or, simply, a sophisticated prototype, but Drako promises that once it reaches customers, the Dragon will deliver 2,000 hp (1,491 kW/2028 PS) thanks to its four electric motors.

That enormous power will allow the five-passenger crossover to rocket from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in just 1.9 seconds, run the standing quarter-mile in 9 seconds flat, and hit a top speed of 200 mph (321 km/h), always according to the company.

Better still, Drako claims that it will be able to do all of that while delivering a “world-beating luxury” experience. Although we have yet to see it, the startup claims that the interior will be “wrapped in Europe’s finest leather, exuding luxury and comfort, with a unique layout.” It will also, somewhat like Tesla’s Model X, feature gullwing doors.

Drako hasn’t yet set an official date for its official unveiling but did promise this summer that the crossover would be revealed before the end of 2022.
