The Mazda CX-5 has long been a favorite among Australian car buyers and from 2023, will receive a number of updates to add to its appeal.
Starting from next year, all variants of the CX-5 will be fitted as standard with the latest 10.25-inch Mazda Connect Infotainment system that is said to be more intuitive while offering faster processing and enhanced image and sound quality. All models, except for the entry-level Maxx, are also equipped with Mazda’s updated seventh-generation navigation system.

Elsewhere, Mazda has equipped the 2023 CX-5 with two new USB-C ports in the center console. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will also be added to Maxx Sport models and above. Mazda has also incorporated a remote window function into the key fob and is offering the SUV in a newly-developed paint dubbed Rhodium White that first debuted on the CX-60.
Rounding out the changes are tweaks to the service intervals for the 2.0-liter, 2.5-liter, and 2.5-liter turbocharged petrol engines, increasing to 12 months or 15,000 km, whichever comes first.
“Mazda’s continued focus on improving and evolving product throughout its lifecycle has helped Mazda CX-5 remain a firm favourite SUV in Australia, resonating with customers for its timeless style, functionality and versatility,” Mazda Australia managing director Vinesh Bhindi said. “The emphasis of this update is to boost customer connectivity with the car, and follows a significant redesign earlier in 2022, which refreshed and sharpened the looks of the Mazda CX-5.”
Sitting at the base of the 2023 Mazda CX-5 range is the Maxx, equipped with the standard 2.0-liter petrol four-cylinder, an automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, and available from AU$35,390 ($22,466). Prices increase with the Maxx Sport, Touring, Touring Active, GT SP, and Akera models, ultimately topping out at AU$54,380 ($34,521).
