Nissan announced a new customer focused initiative at the Los Angeles Auto Show today. EV Carefree+ will seek to make electric vehicle ownership as effortless as possible and is based on four key pillars of customer support.
The first is “Charging Assistance,” which effectively means free charging for its customers. Buyers of the Nissan Leaf, for instance, will get a $100 charging credit with the EVgo public charging network. Those who buy the Ariya, meanwhile, will get one year of free, unlimited charging on the EVgo network.
In addition, Nissan says it has the largest network of high-speed dealership chargers in America. It’s also working with Wallbox to provide an at-home charging solution for buyers and lessees of its EVs.

The second pillar is “Included Maintenance,” which means that all scheduled maintenance for its EVs is free for three years or 36,000 miles (57,936 km). All service is performed by Nissan-trained technicians at EV-certified dealers, and a tire protection plan keeps customers covered in the event of a puncture.
The third pillar is “Battery Health Assurance.” Through this, every Nissan EV will be covered by an eight-year or 100,000-mile (160,933 km) warranty and owners can be provided with comprehensive, EV-specific multipoint inspections.
Finally, Nissan is offering owners 24/7 roadside assistance that includes out-of-charge towing to the nearest Nissan dealership, charging locations, or the owner’s home. This is active for the first 36,000 miles of ownership.
“We’re focused on making ownership seamless to encourage more drivers to consider an EV from Nissan,” said Aditya Jairaj, director, EV marketing and sales strategy, Nissan U.S. “The addition of EV Carefree+ will make our exciting Ariya and Leaf electric vehicles even more appealing to future owners.”
