The all-electric Taycan has been a huge hit for Porsche and eager to show just how versatile the Cross Turismo variant is, the automaker headed into the Californian wilderness for an overnight camping trip.
For the trip, Porsche went to the western sections of the Saddlerock Ranch and equipped a pair of Taycan Cross Turismo models with the new roof tent from Porsche Tequipment.
This tent can be fitted to the 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan and comes with a hardcase available with either a Black/Light Grey finish or a Black/Dark Grey finish, both of which have a matte black Porsche logo. Incorporated within the roof tent is a high-density polyfoam mattress while the tent walls are made from a breathable cotton blend.

Porsche Tequipment’s tent also includes water-resistant zips, a rain cover, a Light Grey quilted lining, a roof window, and two side windows. It is also equipped with an insect guard and can be set up in just a matter of minutes.
Joining Porsche on its journey was Porsche 996 911 owner Brock Keen. The popular social media star has made a 5,000 km round-trip with his wife Sara and dog Lucy in their 911 equipped with a roof tent.
“I’ve made a 3,000-mile road trip loop and I’ve landed in Malibu in the mountains, camping with Taycans with roof top tents. I would have never dreamed that it could have got to this,” Keen described. “I think the experience as a whole is something really special. The idea that Porsche had taken note at some point in my personal journey and thought that this looked like something that our people should do is a little bit surprising, a little bit flattering. It’s a little bit humbling also.”
