This year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas was filled with a dizzying array of crazy creations but none of them were more remarkable than the BMW E30 3-Series presented by Renner.

The vehicle, known as Projekt 3, is far from a standard E30 and immediately stands out thanks to its engine. Whereas this 3-Series originally left the factory with a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, Renner has managed to shoe-horn in BMW’s famous 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V10 from an E60 M5.

As if that wasn’t enough, Renner has comprehensively modified this V10 so it now delivers 625 hp. The VANOS variable valve timing system has also been removed and the engine now pumps out more grunt lower in the rev range than it ordinarily does. It also features stunning carbon fiber air intakes. Of course, actually fitting the engine under the hood was no easy feat and required a lot of effort. Renner notes that it can likely eke out slightly more power from the engine if it wants.

It is not just the engine that makes this E30 M3 special. For example, it is sitting on a set of unique aero disc-style wheels with intricate blue details that were painted by hand and wrapped in Yokohama tires. These wheels suit the character of the car absolutely perfectly and work beautifully alongside the Blue Silver Metallic paint.

As with the very best restomods, Renner spared no expense in overhauling this 3-Series, and that included stripping it down to the bare metal and ensuring that the car is as pristine as it was when it was first built.

For those wondering, Renner is actually looking to sell Projekt 3 and is asking a cool $350,000 for it.
