Production of the all-electric Fisker Ocean recently kicked off at Magna Steyr’s production facility in Graz, Austria and in this newly-released video, we can see just what it is like to see the Ocean being built.
A 3-minute timelapse video released by the car manufacturer shows the full production process and how each and every Ocean is being brought to life. The clip starts off by showing how the SUV’s body-in-white is assembled by a team of advanced robots. As it moves through production, a number of expert craftsmen start to play a role in its assembly, attaching the doors and preparing it for paint, a process handled solely by robots.
After paint, more employees start to play a role in the construction and can be seen working alongside the Ocean as it moves slowly down the production line. Assembling the interior appears to be one of the most complex processes but everything appears to come together quite easily.

Fisker plans to build 300 examples of the Ocean in the first quarter of 2023 and will increase this to 8,000 units in Q2 and 15,000 units in Q3. All up, the car manufacturer expects to build 42,200 Oceans in 2023. In August, it revealed that over 58,000 reservations had been placed for the SUV so it’s obviously eager to get through this backlog as quickly as possible.
A handful of different Fisker Ocean models are being built. Kicking off the range is the $37,499 Ocean Sport which uses a lithium-ion phosphate battery pack supplied by CATL and offers up to 250 miles (402 km) of range on a single charge. The Ocean Sport also uses a 275 hp electric motor driving the front wheels. Other models available include the $49,999 Ocean Ultra, the $68,999 Ocean Extreme, and the $68,999 Ocean One (Launch Edition).
