Zagato has crafted an assortment of stunning cars over the years, but their latest partnership with Persico Marine has resulted in an electric “hyperboat.”
Dubbed the Persico Zagato 100.2, the model measures 25.9 feet (7.9 meters) long and features composite construction that enables the boat to offer a displacement of less than 5,512 lbs (2,500 kg).
Getting back to the powertrain, there will be Sport and Long Range variants with the former featuring an 83 kWh battery pack and a 275 hp (205 kW / 279 PS) electric jet pod. This setup enables the Sport to have a cruising speed of 26 knots (29.9 mph / 48.2 km/h) and a max speed of 43.5 knots (50.1 mph / 80.6 km/h). More importantly, the model is slated to have a cruising range of 28 nautical miles (52.5 km).

The Long Range variant features an additional 83 kWh battery pack and this dampers performance as the cruising speed drops to 24 knots (27.6 mpg / 44.5 km/h), while the top speed falls to 36 knots (41.4 mph / 66.7 km/h). The latter is a significant decrease, but the cruising range jumps to 47 nautical miles (88.1 km/h).
Regardless of which version is selected, each will apparently be a Limited Launch Edition. Only nine units will be built and “each owner will be able to personalize his or hers in a unique and exclusive way.” In particular, the colors and finishes selected by Launch Edition customers will be unique to their boat and not offered on any other model.
The companies didn’t go into many specifics, but noted the design of the boat was a collaboration between Zagato and Micheletti + Partners. It features a “modern and essential look, with no frills.”
As you can see, the boat has a streamlined hull with flowing lines and a purposeful design. The model also has a short windscreen, beautiful wood decking, and a minimalist cockpit with two chairs as well as digital instrumentation. Further back, there are additional seats and what appears to be two chaise lounges.
In a statement, Andrea Zagato said “The project started from a shared concept: the idea that the boat should be a collector’s piece.” Zagato added, “The newest, most innovative technologies presently available will make the boat sustainable and destined to leave its distinctive mark, as was the case with the most valuable car models designed for uncommon customers, the ones always looking for excellence and innovation in any field.”
The Persico Zagato 100.2 will be built by Persico Marine and the first deliveries are slated to begin in late 2023.
