Geely-owned Zeekr introduced its second production model in China – the Zeekr 009 minivan – with impressive specs, striking styling, and a luxurious six-seater cabin.
The exterior of the Zeekr 009 was previewed in August 2022, followed by interior shots in October. The model was designed in Zeekr’s design center in Gothenburg, Sweden, under the guidance of ex-Audi designer Stefan Sielaff. Stand-out features include the large illuminated front metal grille, slim DRLs, and full-width LED taillights. The minivan rides on 20-inch wheels and features large sliding doors.

The vehicle’s footprint is typical of a large minivan, measuring 5,209 mm (205 inches) long, 2,024 mm (79.7 inches) wide, and 1,867 mm (73.5 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 3,205 mm (126.2 inches). Predictably. the Zeekr 009 is quite heavy, tipping the scales at 2,830 kg (6,239 pounds).
Inside, there are six individual seats arranged in three rows. Besides the large infotainment touchscreen and the digital instrument cluster on the dashboard, there is an optional 15.6-inch fold-down screen on the ceiling for the rear passengers. Features like the Nappa leather upholstery, the fold-out tables, the internal communication system with microphones for the second and third rows, the panoramic sunroof, the touch-sensitive controls integrated into the sliding doors, and the fancy audio system make the cabin a pretty luxurious space.
Furthermore, there’s an optional air suspension with electromagnetic vibration damping technology and self-leveling function claiming to offer a more comfortable ride, and also automatically lowers the vehicle making it easier to enter and exit the cabin.
The Zeekr 009 also gets the latest advancements in terms of safety tech, with 30 ADAS thanks to Geely’s collaboration with autonomous driving-specialist Mobileye. Hardware includes seven cameras, four surround-view cameras, twelve close-range ultrasonic radars, and one long-range millimeter wave radar that continuously scan the surrounding area.
The Zeekr 009 is based on a stretched version of the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) modular architecture which also underpins the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and many other models from various Geely brands including the Lotus Eletre. Zeekr claims a torsional stiffness rating of 36,450 Nm/deg, the highest in the 009’s segment. It comes fitted with dual electric motors offering all-wheel-drive and producing a combined 536 hp (400 kW / 544 PS). With a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 4.5 seconds, the Zeekr 009 is probably the quickest production minivan in the world right now.
More importantly, the 009 introduces the new Qilin battery supplied by CATL. The lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack has a capacity of 140 kWh, which is good for an electric range of 822 km (511 miles) according to the CLTP cycle. While WLTP and EPA figures would certainly be less optimistic, this is an impressive figure for a minivan, surpassing the range of most gas-powered models.
The Zeekr 009 is already available to order in China, with prices ranging between ¥499,000 ($68,534) and ¥588,000 ($80,758). Zeekr wants to expand in Europe and North America, although it is not clear if the minivan will be exported to those markets or remain China-specific. Overall, Geely wants to have an annual production of 650,000 vehicles for global markets by 2025.
