The odd-looking Lancia Ypsilon may already be 11 years old but that doesn’t mean Stellantis is ready to throw a retirement party just yet. In fact, the small Italian city car has just received another update for the Italian market, the only place in the world where Lancia is still active.

Lancia describes the updated Ypsilon as its most connected city car ever. Most notably, the 7-inch infotainment system has been updated to support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while a wireless smartphone charger has also been installed. Lancia has also fitted a reversing camera for the first time.

Elsewhere, Lancia has developed a new color dubbed Verde Rugiada and made some alterations to the interior. For example, there is now blue trim on the dashboard and door panels, green multicolored accents on the gear knob, steering wheel, vents, and a revised instrument cluster. Lancia has also clad the seats in a new material dubbed Seaqual Yarn, which was created from recycled plastic collected in the Mediterranean.

2021 Lancia Ypsilon Hybrid

The most notable change under the skin is that the Ypsilon is now offered exclusively as a mild hybrid, combining a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with a 12-volt BSG electric motor and lithium-ion battery and a power output of 70 hp. By making the Ypsilon only available as a hybrid, Lancia has ensured that it will be offered easy access to city centers with emissions standards while also providing new tax breaks for the owners.

Lancia Ypsilon models in Silver also have some additional black accents on the grille, frames of the logo, and the lower bumper. A new GPL Ecochic variant is also available while the Alberta Ferretti series introduced in 2021 also remains available.

Prices for the 2023 Lancia Ypsilon start from €13,350 ($13,972) or it can be purchased with a zero down payment, 48 monthly installments of €217 ($227), and a final residual installment of €6,633 ($6,942) or €17,049 ($17,844) in total.
