The Audi A6 e-tron is attracting plenty of attention, but the company isn’t going electric-only just yet, as spy photographers have snapped the facelifted version of the ICE-powered A6.
Caught undergoing cold-weather testing near the Arctic Circle, the facelifted sedan is instantly recognizable as the front end appears to largely carry over. However, there are some subtle updates that are easy to overlook at first glance.
In particular, the sedan sports a lightly revised grille with more pronounced horizontal bars. The test car has also been equipped with new intakes that feature a horizontal element. While the headlights appear to carry over, the production model could sport revised lighting units.

The minor changes continue out back as the pictured A6 appears to have updated taillight graphics. This particular prototype also eschews visible exhaust tips, although it’s not clear if this will be a common theme on mainstream variants.
The extent of the interior updates remains unclear but, judging from the outside, we shouldn’t expect major changes. While that remains to be seen, the current model’s cabin still feels modern and upscale.
Engine options are also a mystery, but the current sedan offers a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 261 hp (195 kW / 265 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque. Customers can also get a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 with 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. In other markets, there are additional options including a plug-in hybrid variant and an assortment of diesel engines.
It remains unclear if the engine lineup will be updated, but we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out as the facelifted Audi A6 is expected to be introduced next year.
