A C7-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was completely destroyed in a recent crash in Southern California and lost its entire engine in the incident.
Footage showing the aftermath of the crash was recently shared to the lsx.videos page on Instagram. The silver Corvette can be seen resting on the sidewalk against a black fence and is sitting next to a black Audi Q3 and a black Jeep Cherokee.

It is unclear how the crash occurred nor how the three cars ended up positioned in such a way. The page which shared the video on Instagram wrote that it was the fault of a Ford Mustang driver but that’s obviously just a tongue-in-cheek comment.
Regardless of what caused the crash, the damage sustained to the Corvette suggests that it happened at relatively high speeds. In fact, the engine was thrown roughly 100 feet from the scene of the crash, and can be seen resting on a patch of grass.
The initial clip also shows the Corvette engulfed in flames and bystanders carrying an occupant away from the inferno. In the next clip, we can see that the fire spread to also engulf the Audi Q3 and the front of the Jeep Cherokee before fire crews arrived on the scene.
Interestingly, this isn’t the only recent crash involving a C7 Corvette that saw the engine ripped from the sports car. In early December, a yellow C7 Corvette Stingray was wrecked in San Bernardino, California after racing another ‘Vette. It hit at least two other vehicles and the 6.2-liter V8 was thrown down the road.
