A pile-up involving more than 200 vehicles in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou left one person and scores injured on Wednesday.
The crash occurred on the Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge in Zhengzhou in the midst of heavy fog. Footage shared to YouTube by local media outlet CNA captures part of the crash, showing a box truck sliding into a row of vehicles that had already ground to a halt.
The dramatic vision continues as the person filming walks through the huge array of vehicles that were involved in the crash and sent sliding across all parts of the road.
“On Wednesday morning, a sudden build-up of fog occurred at the Yellow River Bridge in Zhengzhou, which caused a traffic accident involving the collision of multiple vehicles,” local authorities said, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

It is understood that some 11 fire trucks and 66 fir rescue personnel were involved in the rescue operation but unfortunately, one person died in the pile-up while many were injured.
The damage sustained to the vehicles involved in the crash appears to vary quite a lot from some appearing to have only minor bumps and scratches while others were involved in serious collisions and will probably be scrapped.
This is far from the only pile-up that has occurred in recent months. In early November, approximately 100 vehicles were involved in a pile-up in Denver, Colorado, triggered by icy conditions. Cleaning up after the crash proved to be such a logistical challenge that authorities were forced to move inoperable vehicles to a parking lot at Emporer Field at Mile High, a football stadium that’s home to the Denver Broncos.
