Back in late 2021, after winning his first Formula 1 world championship title, Max Verstappen bid farewell to his trusty 2018 Honda Civic Type R GT, and auctioned it off for charity. If you really regret missing out on that sale, then we’ve got good news! You have a second opportunity to buy the car.
The 2018 Honda Civic Type R GT features the now two-time world champion’s signature on the dashboard and on the back of the car, and comes with all the relevant documents associating the car with him, such as his insurance certificate from Monaco.
The hot hatch is being sold out of the Netherlands, which makes sense given Verstappen’s popularity in his home country, and it doesn’t appear to have been driven very much over the course of the last 12 months. Whereas we wrote that the car had driven around 58,000 km (36,039 miles) in December 2021, now it is listed as having 58,500 km (36,350 miles) on the odometer.

According to the seller, the Honda remains in excellent, if not quite showroom, condition. The interior, the paint, the frame, and the overall condition are all listed as “very good” with only minor signs of use, and the mechanical condition is listed “excellent,” despite Verstappen taking it through some puddles and off-road in his last drive with the car.
The Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (which means it actually has a larger displacement than Verstappen’s Formula 1 car) that makes 316 hp (236 kw/320 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque for the European market.
This being the driver that gave Honda its first F1 world championship title in decades, you can be sure it has all the bells and whistles, too. That means it has adaptive cruise control, carbon exterior parts, carbon interior parts, the sport exhaust, and even headlight washers.
If you’re interested in buying the 2018 Honda Civic Type R that Max Verstappen drove around Monaco in the year that he won his first Formula 1 world championship, then head over to Catawiki to place your bid.
