The two-door coupe bodystyle has largely gone out of fashion with buyers opting for more practical four-door coupe models or the bulkier coupe SUVs. Still, Hozon Auto proved its commitment to the notion of a traditional coupe by developing the all-new Nezha E which has been revealed through China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The Nezha E doesn’t look as sharp and futuristic as the Nezha S sedan that was unveiled in production form earlier this year, but the two doors certainly add a little bit of charisma. The face adopts a grille-less look with headlights that look inspired by the C8 Corvette and Ferrari 458, faux bumper intakes, and decorative vents on the bonnet. The profile is sleeker, thanks to the classic coupe greenhouse, the flush door handles, and the pronounced rear shoulders. Finally, the tail has a Pininfarina flavor with horizontal LED taillights. The black trim on the rear bumper houses a pair of fake vents surrounded by reflectors, above the slim diffuser.

Depending on the variant, the model can be fitted with cameras and sensors for the ADAS systems which are hidden on the side gills, mirror caps, bumpers, and windshield. Hozon Auto will also offer a selection of alloy wheels alongside painted brake calipers as personalization options.
In terms of dimensions, the coupe measures 4,712 mm (185.5 inches) long, 1,979 mm (77.9 inches) wide, and 1,415 mm (55.7 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm (109 inches). For a good measure, those figures are very similar to the second-gen Audi A5 Coupe and the BMW 4 Series Coupe.
The Nezha E is expected to share Hozon’s “Shanhai” architecture with the Nezha S. While the platform is compatible with both fully electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) powertrains, Chinese media outlets report that the coupe will be exclusively available in BEV form, in single and dual-motor configurations.
According to the official documents, each of the electric motors will produce 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS), which means that the AWD variant will offer a combined 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS). We don’t have any acceleration figures, but the top speed will be limited to 190 km/h (118 mph). The electric range is expected to be between 560-580 km (348-360 miles) under the more optimistic CLTC cycle.
The market launch of the Nezha E is expected in spring 2023 when we will learn more about its technical specification and pricing.
