The Tesla Cybertruck promised to be a revolutionary pickup when it was introduced three years ago, but it’s been beaten to market by the Ford F-150 Lightning, GMC Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, and even the Lordstown Endurance.
While the truck is slated to go into production next year, it’s edgy design has inspired a $300 wireless smartphone charger that could arrive before the pickup.
Noticed by Engadget and listed on Tesla’s website, the smartphone charger is glorious excess as it features an edgy aluminum housing as well as a “detachable magnetic stand that allows you to lay the charger flat or at an angle for better viewing.” Regardless of which position you choose, the charger features an Alcantara-lined ‘bed’ to prevent scratches as well as give the device a premium appearance.

Besides looking good, the charger can replenish up to three devices simultaneously at 15W. While the speeds aren’t remarkable, the charger has FreePower technology that enables Qi capable devices to be recharged without being precisely aligned. In effect, you can place your phone anywhere on the charger’s surface and it will then get to work recharging the device.
While you could buy seven 15W wireless chargers from Samsung and still have money left over, the Tesla Wireless Charging Platform comes with a USB-C cable and a 65W USB-C power adapter that resembles a Cybertruck.
The charger would be the perfect Christmas gift for techy Cybertruck reservation holders, but it isn’t slated to begin shipping until February.
