Drifting superstar Vaughn Gittin Jr and his Formula Drift Championship teammate Chelsea DeNofa have been behind some pretty spectacular videos in the past and have collaborated once again on a new action-packed clip that demonstrates their incredible car control.
Both Gittin Jr and DeNofa were driving their potent Ford Mustang RTR Spec-D drift cars during the clip, filmed on a narrow strip of mountain road that’s not particularly conducive to a pair of cars sliding sideways up.
The first three minutes of the clip shows the finished product while the rest of the video shows what happened behind the scenes to make the video a reality.

While it may seem as though filming a pair of Fords drifting up a mountain with professional drivers may seem simple, it actually involved a lot of planning. Making things particularly challenging was the fact that glare from the sun and the smoke from the tires made it very difficult for the two Mustangs to closely follow each other and even more difficult for the chase car that was filming them, an Ariel Atom. At one stage, DeNofa’s car even caught on fire.
Given the difficulty in filming the duo for an extended period of time, they had to film small individual sections before piecing them together to make the final video.
