Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder and car color is about as subjective a subject as you can get. In fact, there’s not even a way to ensure that two people who love a specific color on a car are actually seeing the exact same shade, tone, and hue of that color. With that all being said, what’s your favorite exterior car color?
Our lead image features what is in many peoples’ eyes, the most beautiful car ever made. Unlike its more iconic yellow-painted siblings, this Lamborghini Miura has a stunning orangey red or reddish-orange that looks menacing in all the right ways. Being a Miura SV it should be a bit menacing though.
Of course, on the other side of the Italian supercar side of the road, we have Ferrari and its Rosso Corsa red. Sure, there are a number of different colors you could choose for a Ferrari but Rosso Corsa stands out as a historically important one and the one that is most closely associated with the brand.

We don’t need supercars to talk great paint colors though. Some sports cars have featured paints that are beloved the world around. Take for example the Nissan Skyline GT-R with its Midnight Purple or Millenium Jade. The TVR Tuscan with its Chameleon colors also stands out in a sea of mediocrity.
It could be an everyday car that deserves more credit though. The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing’s Electric Blue is quite fetching. BMW‘s Space Grey is far deeper than most people realize until they get up close to it. And Lucid’s new Sapphire Blue has a similar luminosity to it that we love.
Maybe you feel like the best exterior paint color is something less bright though. British Racing Green, Highland Green (from the Bullitt Mustang), Tuxedo Black (63 Corvette), Suzuka Grey (Audi), and Snow White Pearl (Kia) could all be considered here.
