The Ridgeline was the only Honda vehicle to see a sales increase in the United States last year and the company is hoping to build on that momentum by offering a new TrailSport variant.
The trim will arrive in time for the 2024 model year and it promises to enhance the truck’s “rugged capability and design.” While the automaker is keeping details under wraps, the pickup will undoubtedly follow in the footsteps of the Passport and Pilot TrailSport.
The latter model is new for 2023 and was designed to be great on- and off-road. That being said, engineers focused on adding capability as they outfitted the crossover with a 1 inch (25 mm) lift, unique stabilizer bars, different spring rates, and special damper tuning.

The Pilot TrailSport also comes equipped with skid plates, a new Trail mode, and exclusive 18-inch wheels wrapped in Continental TerrainContact AT tires. Other highlights include a TrailWatch camera system with four camera views and an exclusive Trail Torque Logic that enables up to 75% of available power to be sent to the wheel with the most traction.
Many of these upgrades will likely carryover to the Ridgeline TrailSport, but they’ll come at a cost. We should get a better idea of what to expect later this year, but the Pilot TrailSport starts at $48,350 before a $1,345 destination and handling fee.
Besides talking about the Ridgeline, Honda revealed the Passport will “remain competitive in 2023” thanks to additional changes. The company didn’t elaborate, but the 2023 Passport now comes standard with all-wheel drive.
